My experience working at Acoustic South East
Despite only working here for 3 months, I have learned so much during that time. Initially, it was a little overwhelming to realise how much I did not know. However, thanks to the team, I was able to rapidly gain knowledge and confidence which assuaged my worry.
I was not aware how broad the field was when I arrived. I knew I was interested in building acoustics, but I had not had any experience with environmental acoustics whatsoever. I found both areas interesting, and I can’t wait to find out what other areas I don’t know about during my diploma!
My favourite experience during my time at Acoustic South East was definitely assisting with a SEN school project, which involved working over proposed plans and discussing what assessments were needed, and then putting those plans into action. The part I liked most about this project was the research that I did around SEN school acoustics. Acoustic design with tighter requirements like this poses an interesting challenge that stuck with me.
I could not have asked for a better start to my career in acoustics, and I am so thankful to everyone at Acoustic South East for the welcome and support they showed me.
